Liza Al-Badawi  (@Hassan_Liza) is a Women’s Protection Advisor and Adaptive Leadership Consultant, and one of Yemen’s independent feminist leaders in the fields of human rights, public freedoms, development, and women’s rights. She currently serves as the Senior Coordinator of the Peace Track Initiative for the Women’s Solidarity Network (WSN) and remains an active member of the Peace Track Initiative, contributing to advocacy strategies, protection frameworks, and the empowerment of women human rights defenders.

Liza is known for her ability to design and manage projects, her strong negotiation skills, and her adaptive leadership style that balances firmness with empathy.
In Switzerland, she leads roundtables and discussions on the integration of migrant and refugee women, in cooperation with Caritas Suisse and Camarada, focusing on combating female genital mutilation (FGM) and promoting women’s mental health and wellbeing.

During her tenure at the Yemeni Ministry of Human Rights, she contributed to drafting national human rights reports and headed the Complaints and Reports Department. She also trained police officers on international human rights conventions in collaboration with the UNDP, and took part in the Public Prosecution Modernization Program, presenting working papers to strengthen institutional coordination and human rights practices.

Liza received the Academic Research Excellence Award for her study titled Freedom of Opinion and Expression: A Comparative Study between Yemeni and Egyptian Legislators, and an Outstanding Performance Award from APDH (Geneva) for excellence in human rights and organizational management.
She holds a Master’s degree in Law and has produced numerous working papers addressing human rights and development issues in the region.

Liza is a member of several local and international networks, including the European Summit Network for Refugees and Migrants and the Arab Association for Combating Terrorism and Supporting Victims (Cairo).
