While confronting the complex realities on the ground to secure fundamental rights and build peace, they are also waging an equally fierce battle in the digital sphere against attempts at exclusion, the distortion of their human rights work, and systematic defamation. The gap between the courage of their fieldwork and the lack of digital protection tools for some activists is the primary vulnerability exploited by targeted disinformation and intimidation.
